The Piscataquis County Economic Development Council (PCEDC) announced today that Executive Director John Shea will be resigning from his position for another opportunity in Kansas. Shea has served as PCEDC’s Executive Director since February 2020. His last day at PCEDC will be April 12th.
“I am so appreciative for the opportunity to have served such a wonderful organization and community here in Piscataquis County. In just a little over two years we have accomplished great things and brought in considerable new resources to the County, and I leave the PCEDC poised to begin exciting new initiatives in county-wide strategic planning, broadband infrastructure, and workforce development. I know the PCEDC will find a qualified new Executive Director to continue this important work,” Shea said.
PCEDC Executive Committee Chairman Denise Buzzelli said, “John began his role as ED just as the pandemic hit Maine; a truly challenging time to begin a new job. It hindered his ability to travel, form relationships and build connections. Despite that, John remained committed to the mission of the PCEDC, and through his leadership, brought the organization forward successfully. We wish him the best in his new endeavors, and look forward to working with him to ensure a smooth transition.”
John will be present at the quarterly meeting scheduled for March 28th at the Mill Café in Dover- Foxcroft and looks forward to greeting those in attendance. To register, please visit PCEDC’s Facebook Page.
