As a longtime member of the Maine Town and City Management Association, Jack has encouraged best practices in local government for administrators from across Maine. Pete Myrick believed in Piscataquis County, and so does Jack Clukey.”
“Jack has left his mark as a professional manager in his hometown. His ability to work patiently through complex problems to develop solutions for Dover-Foxcroft residents has improved the quality of life in our community over the last 20 years,” said Tom Lizotte, Select Board Chair, adding; “Jack’s interest in economic development extends beyond Dover-Foxcroft to include all of Piscataquis County, and he has twice stepped up to serve the PCEDC as its President”, he said.
Denise Buzzelli, PCEDC Board President and Piscataquis Chamber Director said, “I have known Jack for over 11 years and have worked closely with him on community projects and events, economic development endeavors, strategic planning boards and committees, and the co-management of the Covid-19 “Keep Maine Healthy Grant”, disbursing $250,000 in supplies and personal protection equipment to local businesses. In addition to managing the town, he has worked tirelessly to strengthen our infrastructure and the economic vitality of our region, while creating opportunities to educate community leaders involved in making vital decisions for the town of Dover-Foxcroft. As he has recently announced his retirement, I feel it is a perfect time to recognize him by naming him as our choice for this year’s Warren “Pete” Myrick Award; he checks every box; he is so deserving of this honor”, she said.
