The Maine Highlands Broadband Coalition is a community-driven initiative committed to expanding fast, reliable, and affordable broadband access across the Maine Highlands region. Led by the Piscataquis County Economic Development Council, the Coalition works to bridge the digital divide and ensure that every resident, business, and institution can thrive in the modern economy.

This effort is proudly funded by the Maine Connectivity Authority and operates as part of the Regional Wabanaki Broadband Partnership, aligning with a broader vision for inclusive, equitable internet access throughout rural and tribal communities.

In collaboration with local partners like the Piscataquis Valley Adult Education Cooperative (PVAEC), the Coalition is working to raise awareness, build digital skills, and empower communities through technology. Together, we’re laying the foundation for long-term regional growth, education, healthcare access, and economic opportunity.

Empowering Piscataquis: Free Tech Classes & Digital Navigator Support

The Maine Highlands Broadband Coalition is excited to announce the first date for the FREE tech class with PVAEC. This class is scheduled at the Penquis Higher Education Center at 50 Mayo St. in Dover. The class will be from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The next scheduled class will be in Monson in August.
